El Jefe Hunt Club is a little piece of heaven that has deep roots in South Texas. The Glick twins (Bob's father and uncle) purchased the legendary Skipper Ranch in 1967. The Skipper ranch dated back to the 1930's when Texas Oilman Barney Skipper, one of the key players in the East Texas oil boom built the ranch for his son B.A. Skipper Jr.
The Glick family owned the Skipper Ranch for about 28 years, running a cow/calf operation and whitetail hunting program. The Glicks maintained the Skipper Ranch name until 1995, at which point they had sold off 800+ acres of the ranch that included the Skipper house. The remaining 4,500+ acres then became The Glick Ranch. In addition to their cow/calf operation and whitetail hunting, they managed to add a high-quality exotic hunting operation, which showed great success up until the sale of the Glick Ranch in 2025.
Bob and Olicia Glick now mantain a small high fenced portion of that ranch, which is now El Jefe Hunt Club. The ranch is flourishing with natural whitetail, quail, turkey, dove and a small herd of Black Buck, Gemsbok and Fallow.

Along with their love for offshore fishing and hunting, the native Rio Grande Valley couple have a mutual love for sporting clays. And what started as a practice range for their family and close friends, now has grown to a NSCA club that hosts 6-8 registered shoots a year. El Jefe Hunt Club is their labor of love. Their focus is on providing a family-friendly atmosphere, top-tier target shooting and memorable guest experiences.
